Aprais, Canadian Partner
Came to Canada in the late 60′s and worked for Maclean Hunter Business Publications. Managed to persuade an advertising agency to hire her (parlayed her production experience and a BA in Anthropology)and for the next 30 some odd years worked in Client Services specializing primarily in financial services and retail accounts as well as of packaged goods, consumer durables, tourism and entertainment. In 2000, joined Vickers and Benson and ran all the government business as EVP, Managing Director – and found a great deal of satisfaction in social marketing. In 2009, Barbara moved to The Globe and Mail as Director, Brand Engagement, Advertising who is responsible for an in-house agency, Research, Trade Advertising, Sponsorship, Events and Sales Training. Barbara was appointed the Canadian partner for Aprais – a global company specializing in the business relationships between Clients and their agency partners. She also established her own Mentoring company called Fearless Mentoring.
