As President and CEO of BBDO Canada and North America, Gerry is a trusted strategic advisor to some of the world’s most sought-after brands.
When Gerry joined BBDO Canada in 2001, he led a highly talented team in transforming the agency to deliver unmatched levels of client engagement, talent retention and industry recognition for creativity. It was Gerry’s belief that relentless drive, focus and love for the work is infectious that led to his promotion to President and CEO, North America in 2006. He also played a pivotal role with local teams in launching two of the network’s leading digital offices, Proximity Canada and Proximity Mexico.
Gerry’s current focus is helping clients decide what they should do instead of what they could do in today’s increasingly complex digital marketplace. His leadership team encourages brands to avoid the urge to chase shiny new technologies and platforms in favour of creating TotalWork solutions that deliver results by strategically marrying content and context.
Gerry has led some of the industry’s best known campaigns and worked with the world’s most iconic brands. In 2011, for the fifth year in a row, BBDO was named Network of the Year at Cannes and is both the world's most awarded agency network according to The Gunn Report and Most Creative Network in The Big Won report. BBDO Toronto was named 2011 Agency of the Year by Strategy Magazine and most recently, Agency of the Year at the 2012 FAB awards.
Gerry is a board member of BBDO Worldwide, The Ad Club of New York and Drug Free Canada. He supports young people in their professional and personal lives through his work with Students in Free Enterprise, Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship and the United Way of Toronto.
